I think my friend C said it best when she said that any birthday after 30--and after kids--seems insignificant. It's just an excuse to have cake. Isn't that so true? Haha! Well, we celebrated Richard's birthday a few days ago with a low-key dinner at our home. I'm starting our weekly dinners again, so it was perfect to have people join us in celebrating.

| My original dessert attempt of making a sour cream apple pie failed terribly (I was so sad to throw away a pie that took me hours to make, but it was really bad)...so I quickly whipped up a brownie cake as a replacement. |
