We made it! We survived the 21 hours of travel and are back overseas. Overall, the trip went pretty smoothly, and the boys did well. Noah was a champ and did great even though he's recovering from a cold; I'm so glad we brought the carseat for him to use on the plane, though it was a pain for Richard to lug through all the airports. Caleb had a few bouts of crying, but handled himself pretty well considering he's only four months old. I couldn't really blame him either...we finally got him to fall asleep in the bassinet, only to be told less than an hour later that we had to take him out and hold him due to turbulence. Poor kid just wanted to sleep in peace! The flight attendants must've taken notice of his screaming since they didn't make us take him out the subsequent times there was turbulence - haha! He didn't feed that well, but was able to eat some when he was hungry. Here are some things I was thankful for on the journey:
- Pacifiers
- Noah's carseat
- A good layover at the Korean airport, where we could use the nursery and playground.
- My parents who helped with the kids and luggage. We seriously would not have survived this without them.
- Great customer service on Korean Air. We were so impressed with them...they had yummy food, great children's giveaway toys, and were enthusiastic to help with the kids (whether it was wanting to hold Caleb while he was crying to give us a short break or running to Noah's side with a glass of warm water while he was coughing uncontrollably). They were awesome!
Now that we survived the trip, we begin the next challenge of getting over jetlag. Last night was tiring and exhausting (from having to wake up so much), but it could've gone a lot worse...so we're thankful for boys that seem to be adapting rather well. We'll be in a big city for the next few days getting over jetlag and meeting up with Richard's parents.
We are happy to be back, but definitely miss all of you in the US. Thanks so much to all our family and friends that made our time there so very sweet. We miss you already!
